Workshop Notes and Logistics

Please Arrive On Time: Please be on time and allow for morning traffic. All workshops begin promptly at 8:30 am so that all the material planned for the day can be covered and time can be provided for hands-on activities and personal attention. In order to accurately provide credit toward the 100-hour professional development requirement, participants must arrive on time and remain until the conclusion of the workshop at 2:30 p.m.

Location: Morton Building, Room 210

Parking: You should park in Sixth Street parking lot (see campus guide). If there is no space available, please plan to park in the Municipal parking lot between 3rd and 4th Street on Hudson Street. Bring your parking stub to the workshop; print your name on the back of the stub and you will be reimbursed for the parking fee.

Cancellations or Delays due to Inclement Weather: Except under sever weather conditions, workshops will be cancelled or delayed for inclement weather only if Stevens is forced to close or delay its opening. Even though your school may be closed, the workshop may very well still be on for the day. You may call Ihor at (201) 216-5076 after 6:00 am to hear a recorded message regarding the status of your workshop.

Lunch: Everyone is on his or her own for lunch. Participants will frequently dine at nearby eateries or bring their own lunch from home. There are numerous restaurants located on Washington Street, just two blocks east of campus and several on Hudson Street, 1 block east of campus. Just keep in mind that we will be starting the afternoon session promptly at 1:15pm

Internet Access: Teachers without Internet access in their classrooms will not be able to realize the full benefit of the workshop series. Schools must place the highest priority on ensuring that workshop participants have Internet access in their classrooms if the benefits of the district’s investment in this training program are to be fully utilized.

Professional Development Certificate: After you complete your workshop evaluation forms you will receive a certificate stating that you have participated in a state approved professional development program here at Stevens.

Graduate Credit: Graduate credit is available for this workshop series. Please see Ihor for details.
