Let us tell you about our school and community.
Cape Town is 33deg 56 mins S and 18 deg 28 minutes E.
Although our school is in very busy city we are all like a big happy family. Micklefield is in a friendly suburb called Rondebosch which is known for its beautiful tall oak trees.
We have 9 classes from Nursery to Grade 7. We are Grade 5 students with a small class of 21. We have Christians and Muslims in our class.
Cape Town is a lively city with many tourist attractions. Table Mountain is one of them. It is given its name because of its flat top and the clouds that sit on top of the mountain that look like a tablecloth. Kirstenbosch is another tourist attraction. It has indigenous plants (we call it Fynbos) all up the mountain.
Recently Michael Jackson sang live in Cape Town.
This summer our temperatures have been up to 36 deg C, which is very hot. In winter temperatures drop to 8 deg C. Sometimes we have a little snow on top of Table Mountain although this is very seldom as the last time this happened was 1995.
Our city was lucky enough to be chosen for the 2004 Olympic bid but unfortunately we lost to Athens.
Love from Grade 5.
