We are a class in Vasteras, Sweden. Our school is called Fryxellska skolan, that is the Fryxellska school in English. This is a music- and dance-school with four parallels from the 4th to the 9th grade. We have music-classes, dance-classes and "ordinary" classes. There are 30 students in each class.
Our class is a music-class and we spend a lot of time singing. We are 8 boys and 22 girls in our class and we are in the 5th grade. Our schoolbuilding is situated in the city of Vasteras. It looks like castle from the outside. It is pretty old; it was built in 1902.
Sweden is a long and narrow country and Vasteras is located a bit below "the middle". It is the 5th or 6th town of Sweden with fully 120 000 inhabitants. Vasteras is considered to be a rather old town. For example we have a castle which was begun to be built in the 13th century. Some people claim that our town is a thousand years old. Others disagree though. Vasteras is especially known for one big company: ABB. The Swedish part ASEA originates from here.
You can find us on the 59.5 degree latitude N and the 15.5 degree longitude E. We have four seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter. Right now it is autumn, which means unpleasant temperatures, short days and a lot of rain. Our summer is lovely; sunny, dry and warm. Our winter is cold and hopefully snowy.
Our interests are except for singing, to play instruments, listen to all kinds of music, do sports - like indoorbandy, ice-hockey, soccer, riding and so on. We also like to read, draw, watch TV and movies, to be with friends and to have fun.
Many greetings from class 5B at the Fryxellska school through Carina Johansson, classteacher.
P.S You can find us on the net if you want to. The address for our homepage is: http://www.fryx.vasteras.se/. Right now we have project going on to put Astrid Lindgren - the famous Swedish author of children's books - forward as a Nobel prize candidate. We think it was her time a long time ago. Maybe you have read for example about Pippi Longstocking and agree with us. Then you can sign our namelist and add your opinion why Astrid should get the prize.
