We are a fifth/sixth grade class of 22 students.
Our school is rather small - about a hundred students from preschool to the 6th grade. Today the whole school is a little busy, because tomorrow is opening (and closing) day for a little show with songs from all over the world we have been working with the last couple of weeks.
We have been on the Internet for a year, and this term we also started taking part in projects via the Net. Fun! And useful. To see more of us, please visit our homepage at http://home.vpress.se/docksta/ The page is mostly in Swedish, but there are some summaries in English, and there are a lot of pictures and clickable things we've made.
Our most popular subject at school is Student's Choice, where one can choose to dig into dancing, arts and crafts, sports, technology and computers, or nature.
Docksta, our little community with a thousand or so inhabitants, is situated on the east coast of Sweden at 63.1 degrees north latitude and 18.3 degrees east longitude. That's about 500 km north of Stockholm, our capital. The coastline here is Sweden's highest, with the land not yet quite recovered after the Ice Age. So our part of Sweden is called the High Coast, and not far from us they are just finishing one of the world's longest bridges (you might have heard about it).
We had the first snow here three weeks ago. Today it's only a couple of degrees C below zero, wich is unusually warm for the time of the year here. Soon it will probably be colder, -20 C or so, and more snow, a metre deep perhaps. Our summer temperatures, on the other hand, might be around +25 degrees C, from June to August. But now many of us are waiting for the downhill ski season to start at our nearby mountain, the Skule Mountain.
Looking forward to hearing more from you all!
