Greetings from Holbrook , Arizona :

We are students from HJHS and we would like to tell you a little about our town and school.

The population of Holbrook is about 5700. The latitude is 34.902 N and the longitude is 110.158 W. Holbrook is located in northeastern Arizona (near the mountains);our elevation is 5083 feet (1549 meters). We are on the banks of the Little Colorado River . The historical Route 66 runs through our town. It gets hot in the summer (high 90's F to low 100's F) and cold in the winter (20's F and below). We even get some snow.

Our school colors are red, blue, and white and our mascot is the roadrunner. There are 6th, 7th, and 8th grades in the school. We have a diverse population of students which include: Native Americans (Navajo and Hopi), White, Black, and Hispanic. We have about 410 students.

We are looking forward to doing this project. We are not in agreement as to the major factor influencing the boiling point of water. The two main ideas are the amount of water and the type of container being used.
