Boil, Boil Toil and Trouble - The International Boiling Point Project

Data Check List

Before you submit your data, please take a look at the check list below. This will help to ensure accurate submissions. Thanks!

CHECK IF ANSWER IS "YES"
Did you calibrate your thermometer(s)?
Did all students in class use the same volume of water and same type of heating device for all 3 days?
Did you use distilled water? (not spring or tap water)
Was the thermometer suspended in water (not resting on bottom)?
Did the boiling point remain constant for at least 5 minutes?
Is volume of water recorded in mL?
Is elevation recorded in meters?
Is temperature recorded in Celsius?
Did you do the experiment on 3 different days and find the average boiling point and room temperature for the entire class for the 3 day period?

If you answered YES to all of the questions, please submit your data by clicking on the link below. Please report only one set of data per class. 

If you answered NO to any of the questions or are not sure about anything, please review the experiment instructions or contact the project leader with your questions.
