Using the Percent Circle
1. Jill, Jeremy, and Manuel were the caditdates for homeroom
student council representative. The table below shows the number of
votes that each received. Find the fractdion and percent of the votes
that each received and record them in the table. Use Geometer’s
Sketchpad to draw a cricle to display the results.

1. Draw a circle using the circle tool.

2. Draw three line segments that are each a radius of the circle.

3. Measure the three angles that are formed at the center.
4. What should the sum of the three angles equal? Why?
The number of votes each candidate got is represented by their portion
of the pie. It should look something like this:

Jeremy got 28 % of the vote.
Jill got 48% of the vote.
Manuel got 24% of the vote.
